Q What do you do?

I help women-owned brands authentically and strategically show up online with content that doesn’t break the bank.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

If I said I did everything I was supposed to do to get where I am now, I’d be lying ;) I received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language & Literature and another bachelor’s degree in Latin American & Caribbean Studies. So yeah, like most everyone else, I went into debt for a degree I don’t even use. I worked in customer service and hospitality for the majority of my career, so I have plenty of experience working with people. Five years ago, I transitioned to events and marketing. Then COVID hit and my job was obsolete. Instead of navigating the hiring process at the peak of the pandemic, I decided to take a bigger risk (it’s the Virgo in me) and start my own business. It was then that Kajsa Nikole Co. was born, and I’m proud to say that I’ve been helping women-owned businesses with their online presences ever since.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I like to think that transparency is my superpower. As cliche (and as annoyed as I am for even describing it this way), I really do meet you where you’re at... without the fluff. I will always share my opinion and I will never just tell you what you want to hear. Because to be honest, there’s no success found in gray areas.

Q What are you working on right now?

Feeling more balanced… Recently, I pivoted from full time social media management and strategy services to a 75/25 split. Nowadays, you’ll still find me of course doing some calendaring, copywriting, strategizing, and posting, but I spend the majority of my time working with brands to ensure that their content is more diverse, relatable, and unique.

Q What’s your style?

There’s so much noise in the digital world, and I find that the most effective content is often the simplest. After all, they do say that less is more.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Gas prices in California, lol. But in all seriousness, if one more social media app is developed, I might switch industries.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

I would love to hire someone to help me with setting up automations in HoneyBook, so that my business is working behind the scenes, whether or not I’m online.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

During my 20’s, I admittedly wore burnout like a medal of honor. If I knew what I know now, I would’ve told myself that: 1. mental health is more important than any job and 2. I will never see an ROI on all of the time and energy I give to someone else’s business. I also could sit here and say that I wish I had started my business sooner and invested that same time and energy into myself, but I try not to live with regrets.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

100% mindset. We all know that working in social media can take a toll on one’s mental health. Comparison and information overload often turns into imposter syndrome, low self esteem, and perfectionist tendencies. How do we set clearer boundaries? How can we be more mindful of screen time? Are we comparing ourselves too much to others? Are we aware of how social media affects our mood? How do we maintain a healthy mindset and balance while working in this industry?

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Brand photography and user-generated content. I’ve found so much joy in my recent decision to focus more on content creation, and I would like work with BIPOC women owned brands to help amplify those stories and those voices.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

My ideal client would trust my expertise and my ability to get the job done. The project would be exciting and innovative and would open doors to new connections and opportunities.

Q What is your rate?

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but my services and my pricing do vary as they’re customizable. I’m available for both one-time projects at a rate of $75 per hour and for monthly retainers which require a three-month minimum. My services include content creation, user-generated content, and social media management + strategy (*limited availability*).

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Call me, beep me if you want to reach me. Please email me at hello@kajsanikoleco.com with the scope of work as well as your budget. If you want to add a reference from Rush Hour 2, I'll know it was meant to be.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Ummmm, Corey freaking Staley. She’s hysterical, she has an eye for aesthetics that many can’t capture, and she’s a gem of a human. If you get the chance to work with her, thank your lucky stars.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Get off your phone and go outside.
