Q What do you do?
“I’m a multi-faceted senior creative.”
I started as an illustrator actually with motion chops and have been working in social for the last 8 years. I've worn many hats so from art director to video editor and content creator, I have done almost everything in the realm of social.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
Wearing many hats you have to learn many skills.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I'm a senior creative with illustration and motion skills. I can art direct but then create the asset that's needed! One stop shop.
Q What are you working on right now?
Currently FT with amazon home as a creative lead.
Q What’s your style?
It totally ranges - but I really love the work I did with NFL found here --> www.penleydesigns.com/client-work and then any of my cpg work i'm super proud of!
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
Would love to come in house/ in brand.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Well currently a recession isn't the easiest but trying to find that sweet spot of working fulltime for a brand.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
I do a lot of freelance so production of assets when creating social media calendars.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
Invest more in yourself - and less in companies.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
I have always been curious about 3D I would love to take a couple of classes on how to render.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
I'm looking for more FT jobs that align with my goals of leaning into brand or cpg!!
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
I'd love to get in-house with a brand to be a senior lead and help grow the brand and create killer kick ass work. Being in-house you get to be a little more risky and creative - I miss that.
Q What is your rate?
Freelance anywhere from 85-95 an hour! I like retainers typically and those range. Full time looking at 110k.
Q How should someone approach you about working together?
Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?
eat, pray, love. jk but seriously traveling, living life, eating good food, it's the simple things.
