About the program
This College Program prepares you for the job market. Here’s how.
➀
1-on-1 Feedback
with Working Designers
Yes, we believe anyone can learn from the internet, but to truly begin to level up, you sometimes need a lil bit of human, ya know? You’ll receive career advice and individualized feedback on your projects and portfolios from our head instructors at ilovecreatives Studio with a combined 32 years of active industry experience.
➁
Portfolio Review with
Companies
Not only are we going to help you build a stellar portfolio, but we’re also going to get them in front of the people that matter! We’re inviting industry freelancers and working designers from companies such as Adobe, Wieden+Kennedy, Smalls, Womp, Silk Studio, Buck, and TBWA\Media Arts Lab.
Each week, we’ll have panelist chat about how they got their start and tips on how to stand out.

You will still have access to the curriculum after the 6 weeks, but we highly encourage students to stick to the schedule to take advantage of this one-time Portfolio Review (exclusive to the College Program). From
(We were once junior designers too & we got your back.)
“I’m self taught, but this course teaches you on-the-job skills you wouldn’t find on YouTube
I graduated from Boston University with a communications degree feeling lost about what I wanted to do— I want to give beginner and junior designers the tools and confidence they need to start creating designs that make their heart sing and get paid along the way. It was important to me to craft a curriculum that allowed for non-designers and very beginner designs to BECOME solid graphic designers, so no skipping steps or tools. We really cover everything.”
Sarah Sarazen, Art Director
“There's the BUSINESS side of things. That's something we didn't learn in college.
After graduating from Ringling College of Art & Design, I had no idea how to find clients, what to put in contracts, best ways to handle client communication, etc. Design doesn't have to be something you take a 4-year program for. We're in an age where you can easily become an incredible self-taught designer with a lil gumption. We wanted to create this course in order to make design more accessible because once you have the tools, all you need is the creative vision!”
Mindy Nguyen, Creative Director
“We know what today’s employers are looking for and we want you to stand out!
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Marketing degree and wow, it was VERY hard to find a job after I graduated. I thought I knew Photoshop, but in hindsight, I needed to know way more than how to make a t-shirt for my school org. We see so many portfolios from really great schools and TBH, we’re bummed. Most student portfolios aren’t going to cut it in today’s market. This course is going to help you get a leg up and land those creative jobs you really want.”

Frequently Asked Qs
-
Enrollment closes on May 30th, 11AM Pacific Time. Don’t miss out… make sure to grab the curriculum before it’s too late!
-
Let’s be real. What does a college degree get you these days? It’s no longer enough to say “I went to X” even if it’s a prestigious design school that you paid $80K a year for.
Your portfolio and confidence that you can handle real-world deliverables is all that matters. That’s exactly why we made this course. We want to help you stand out in a stack of applicants, land interviews, and feel confident when you get the job. This is as close to on-the-job training as it can get.
-
We took our Graphic Design Course and created a 6-week bootcamp exclusively for students. Only current students or post-grads (Spring or Fall 2023) can enroll.
65% of students don’t feel job-ready and we can see why. Universities and youtube videos, just don’t teach you what you need in today’s job market. The curriculum was designed to teach on-the-job training, not just design theory or how to use design tools. Our core curriculum teaches you all the design tools, brand identity process, how to make a portfolio, and career paths (from getting a job to freelancing to building an agency).
Students will gain access to a private Discord channel, 1:1 feedback, portfolio reviews, weekly panels from industry experts, and a surplus of design resources.

Fair question! We really thought hard about the amount of education you receive with the course. Students take about 60 hours which comes to $20 per hour. Additionally, if you plan on freelancing, you can charge from $500-3000+ for branding or graphic design services.
Also, if you are shopping around and looking at other courses a few things to think about:
① If it’s a low price point, who is your teacher? Are they doing work that you want to do? Do you get access to them?
② If it’s a higher price, look at the student work. Often, we find higher education have more “student work” kind of projects that are very fun and abstract, but will most companies and clients are looking for real-world deliverables. -
YES! We understand the financial concerns students may have regarding the course, which is why the program hosts scholarships. Applications close on April 26, 2024, and all applicants will be notified by May 1 with their decision. Apply for scholarship here.
Payments plans are also available. You won't be able to "graduate" the course until all the payments are complete, but you can work through all of the content. Here’s the payment plan.
-

-
Weekly assignments corresponding to each section are provided to aid you in refining your portfolio and honing your skills. These design tasks will be assessed and you'll receive feedback from your instructors! If you ever get stuck or have any questions (which is completely normal!) you can message your instructors on Discord at any time.
-
Typically about 60 hours, but this also depends on your current technical and design skills. If you’re pretty advanced, it might be faster!
We recommend spending 10-20 hours a week on the course, leaning more hours if you are new to design.
-
YES! For live calls, we are based on Pacific Time, but we try to accommodate by most time zones.
