This course is so much more practical and realistic compared to the free certificates or the boring big corporate courses. You get to see exactly how an expert analyzes data, builds strategy decks, implements retainers, workflows and templates so that it’s all less overwhelming. Plus, Ceilidh’s POV is from all sides: freelancer, small business owner, employee (both in-house and agency).

Story Time: I’ve been in the digital marketing world since before Instagram offered paid ads 😲, so I have been thru some sh*t. Until 2020, I worked at media agencies, which were ~toxic~ marketing boot camps. Sometimes it was good, sometimes it was bad, but never ideal for work-life balance. Fast forward to 2024. I am a full-time freelancer/contractor and haven’t looked back. While these 4 years have been liberating working with smaller organizations and businesses, there wasn’t always the opportunity to learn from others in the industry. I had to rely on resources like popular advertising/marketing websites, Reddit forums, Instagram meme pages (to feel seen), and maybe tap former colleagues and peers to keep up with updates and changes in the industry, tools, and tech. They were helpful, but I would love to get gut checks from a less “Silicon Valley” perspective and a more self-made vibe, especially since I don’t have Zuckerburg-typa resources/tools as a freelancer. I wanted to feel re-inspired to do what I do and, descending from the clouds, entered the digital angel, the ilovecreatives Digital Marketing Course. A resource that was more on my wavelength.

This course helped me chill my communication style. Since I have an agency background, I sometimes forget that my non-marketing peers might not understand the data performance that I cover, and giving context in a digestible form is key. I would spend hours in Google Sheets and Excel to make decent dashboards and reports, but after using Looker Studio, which is covered in the course, my data visualizations are appreciated across departments — even my design counterparts love them! I am no instructor, so it feels nice when someone can take away from my blabbing. One of my goals here is to let the team know clearly and quickly what’s working so they can help me make better creative assets.

I loooved learning from Ceilidh. It’s nice to learn from someone who has been in the weeds and now oversees all channels and aspects of the business. It’s refreshing to hear new and attainable ideas to try, and it’s a bonus to know that some of my processes and strategies align with hers.

I hate to admit that I was a terrible student in college. Maybe classes lacked rapport and enthusiasm, but whatever it was, I didn’t feel connected. At the end of the day, it did feel like a requirement. Nothing was hands-on unless I found an internship that I liked (that was hard esp carless). But now, I am taking classes because I WANT to learn about the subject matter instead of being expected to - expected to attend a university with an undecided major (btw my major became Bio Sci, then Art History, and now I do advertising as a living and love it). ilovecreatives courses hit different. I can scope out their goated instructors online first instead of feeling obligated because all the good ones on ratemyprofessor.com had full classes. Read genuine testimonials from students who love the ilovecreatives world (they are just like me 🥲) I love that the Digital Marketing Course is well ~digital~ and still hands-on, and I can do it on my own time because I work 😛 Dang, if ilovecreatives existed when I was in college, things would have been different (not to age myself).

You’re considering taking a course on how to convince ppl to LOVE your online business? If you’ve gotten this far from wherever you came from, I think you’re deep and cozy in that funnel. There’s only one thing left to do 🥰. But on a serious note, I think it really depends on what you truly need/are looking for. This course super helpful, whether you have or don’t have marketing experience. You can DM @badabambi to feel it out, I am really friendly. Anyway, ilovecreatives has the word "love" in it, c’mon.

Great things about this course:

  • The course’s Digital Audit Report was a great soundboard for exploring how I target audiences by zooming in and out and how I can better keep customers. Catching holes in my strategy that I didn’t know I had before and connecting them.

  • Looker Studio helped me seamlessly combine the data and creative parts of my brain. My clients and team think I’m cooler 📊

  • Ceilidh made me feel more confident as a one-person team in the big marketing world.

  • Ad platform updates sometimes piss me off, so it’s nice to know a similar sentiment is shared in the ilovecreatives course community. But it ain’t stopping us from doing our sh*t. Talk data to me.

  • My tuition could never.
