The Brand Terminal, a new global branding agency, is seeking a freelance digital designer for a couple specific website projects as part of our Los Angeles team. Must know Square Space and Shopify and have a passion for great design!

The Brand Terminal is a modern branding agency specializing in brand creation and brand activation with both early stage start-ups and companies looking to re-brand themselves. We curate teams based on client needs, and handle a lot of project-based work versus the traditional, multi-year retainer. We pride ourselves in having global reach and working with global partners. Must be a self-starter, passionate, and enjoy working in a flexible and dynamic environment. We are looking for someone who is a freelance designer, residing in the Los Angeles or Austin area. Work remotely. Opportunity to collaborate on both branding and digital design projects in the future, and be part of our full time team if the projects go well.

INITIAL PROJECT

  • Help update The Brand Terminal website (Square Space) as the first project.

  • Create a more dynamic way to showcase current and future work.

  • Work with the founder and account director who have already gathered assets, written copy and chosen a new square space template.

  • Start on or before April 1st.


FUTURE PROJECTS

  • Help on digital design (websites and social and digital content) for The Brand Terminal’s current clients.

  • Work with the team of strategists, writers and other designers to develop brand and visual identities for holistic brand books


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES IF WE WORK TOGETHER IN THE FUTURE

  • Combine creativity and technical skills to design and produce websites in Shopify and Square Space

  • Create graphics for brochures, flyers, ads and digital banners.

  • Create email promotional creative, email templates, social media graphics, social media templates and gifs

  • Present new social / digital ideas for our clients business as well as the agency

  • Work with artists and illustrators in the conceptualization phase, create templates, and produce mock-ups

  • Test designs for usability and quality


QUALIFICATIONS FOR FUTURE

  • Agency experience preferred (advertising, branding or digital agency experience)

  • Client side or start-up company experience is a plus

  • Prefer at least 5 years experience total in the industry

  • Familiar with Square Space and Shopify platforms

  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite software proficiency– from Dreamweaver to Photoshop

  • Proficient in Keynote and Pages as well as Powerpoint and Word in some cases

  • Excellent presentation, communication, and computer skills are essential

  • Industry experience in lifestyle categories such as CPG, beauty, technology, entertainment

  • Programming / coding language skills is a plus

  • Motion graphic skills a plus

  • Currently living in LA or Austin (but work remotely)
