Q What do you do?

I do digital marketing - so I mostly specialize in social media content creation, strategy and graphic design, as well as web design.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I got my degree in marketing, where I got a lot of traditional marketing campaign experience. From there, I've worked with multiple agencies, which is where I gained experience in design and content creation; therefore where I found that I love brands' visual identities and their look.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I stand out in my field because I think from a consumer perspective. I always look at what I'm doing with the thought of, "how would someone from the outside look a this?" I think it's easy to get wrapped up in your own head, especially when working with design projects, and stare at something so long you forget what the goal was. I think I stand out because I'm able to remind myself to step back and look objectively.

Q What are you working on right now?

Right now, I'm working with an agency on social media content for interior designers. Additionally, I'm working on furthering my web design skills and venturing into product photography.

Q What’s your style?

My style is simple yet bold. I like neutrals with pops of intense colors and sharp lines. I also love some good textures.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I would like to focus more on the creative side of the marketing industry. Specifically, I would like to get more into web design and photography.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Self teaching myself new skills is something that is stopping me from moving forward. While I know I am completely capable of excelling in things I can teach myself, it tends to fall to the bottom of my To Do list. I recently made a resolution to myself to start learning and pursuing my passions, hence why I'm making this.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

I would hire someone to help push me to do the things that don't seem plausible. For example, those skills I want to teach myself to further my web design career or to learn more about photography. I would hire someone to remind me and push me to get my shit done, and then to move on to the other things that are for me and my passions. Essentially I would hire myself a hype man.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I wish I could have told myself at the beginning of college to explore classes outside of what I thought I should be doing. Yes, I got my marketing degree and I needed to take classes to complete that, but I wish I could have taken so many more classes that could have taught me more about creative and artistic expression. I wish I could have told myself that what I thought I wanted to learn, and what my degree was going to be in, was not the only thing I could do.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

I would love to hear more about photography in creative product marketing industries. I would like to hear more about creative visions and the brainstorming behind product shoots.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I'm looking for projects/opportunities to create social media graphics and content, as well as web design and product photo shoots.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I'm a very independent worker with clear communication, therefore my ideal type of collaboration (and like my favorite ones in the past) would be where there is open communication and a clear vision for the creative look the client wants. Then I will hold my weight and get my work done and communicate with the client to make sure they are completely happy with it.

Q What is your rate?

A squarespace site for me would start at around $800 and would depend on number of pages and the complexity of the site/designs. Social media content would depend on the number of posts/pieces of content but would be around $25 an hour and can be discussed/negotiated.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Email me! sarahbouchez565@gmail.com
I want to hear a general overview of the project and the budget.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Isabelle Tate.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

little things in life spark my inspiration
