WHAT DO YOU DO?

I’m a storyteller who creates content for lifestyle brands.

My images typically portraits of people, products and emotions used to inspire emotion online or in print. I create content for web, ads, print, billboards, etc. You name it and I photograph it.

WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

It all started for me at film school where I learned how to use a camera. After moving to LA I created my own masters program that included working at a post production facility, assisting an A- List Director and getting clients of my own with all my skills. A lot of self taught skills. Yay Internet!

FOR OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR FIELD, WHAT DO THEY USUALLY LACK?

I think a quality that I excel in that others may lack is communication. To collaborate and coordinate with a team it's so crucial to be able to communicate efficiently. It's not always easy to explain to others what you see inside your brain, but I've found I've got a knack for it.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

Right now, I'm working on various projects. Some videos, Some cinemagraphs and some new campaigns. I also just opened up my store where you can purchase images from my collection.

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?

My style is energetic natural and fun. A video I shot for PBR is a great example of this.

WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?

I'd like to focus more on larger campaigns. With the birth of Instagram a lot of my work has been used for a smaller platform. I still love it, but miss the scale of some my larger campaigns.

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?

Updating my website/portfolio. I shoot so much, it's a challenge to keep all the new fresh work on the site. But I'm trying!

IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?

So many things. But most likely, networking, marketing, website, social media. The list never ends...

LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?

If I could go back, I'd take a big trip after college. I was so excited to apply all my new skills, I started working full-time the same week I graduated. It was a great job, but I didn't take the time for myself to decompress after school creativity.

IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?

If I could talk to an expert, I’d talk to Yan Palmer. I’d want to take her picture and take her to noodles and ask her about how she views people.

WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

I'm looking for innovative opportunities that challenge me. Other than that I'm really open to anything.

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.

My ideal client is one that trusts my eyeballs and my ideas, yet has a defined point of view.

WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?

Since pricing varies from project to project, I like to find out the scope of the project before numbers are thrown around. A lot of my work is pre-production and post-production so it's easier for me to quote a "creative fee" rather than a day rate.

HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?

Email me! Then a phone call is usually a great followup to talk about all the little details. I like to chat about project on the phone with my clients to kick things off on a personal note.

HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?

I do things that make me feel uncomfortable.
