Q What do you do?

I help people grow their businesses online with digital solutions that look good, feel good and do good.

I believe every human being has the potential to make a difference and I believe it is my job to help people bring it to the world. I also believe that we weren’t born to sit behind computer screens all day so I’m very passionate about enabling people to do more good whilst doing less work. Did someone say automations?

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I’m an entirely self-taught creative. I side-stepped university and carved my own path picking up lessons along the way from working in visual merchandising, publishing, events, corporate, small business, and hospitality. Some of the biggest steps I’ve taken have been from the UK (where I was born) to Australia (where I am now). This is a story I particularly love telling so if you’re interested to hear, ask me :) But for now, I’ll tell you the moral of the story - be careful what you wish for because it may just come true!

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I’d say I stand out because I’m not just a web designer. I’m also the business side-kick you’ve always wanted but haven’t yet made enough money to hire someone to do the job. I care for your business's success as if it were my own. I also have a particular knack for problem-solving frustrating tech problems and ultimately making life easier - something we all want!

Q What are you working on right now?

I’m always working on multiple things at once (I think that just comes with being a creative). I enjoy the variety and it keeps things interesting. In my business, I’m working on some passive income ideas (such as Squarespace and Notion templates) as well as fine-tuning my client experience to infuse the essence of what I call ‘laid-back luxury’.

I have a second business with my best friend so I’m also putting a lot of energy into that. We host a podcast called Show Me The Honey and run a community of epic business owners who are doing business differently.

Q What’s your style?

My style is a blend of modern, clean, and simple. Simple can sometimes be misunderstood but I find so much beauty in simplicity. There is an art to having as little as possible but also everything you need. In a world with so much noise, a little simplicity goes a long way. A project that represents my style is www.livkali.com - who happens to be my business partner.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I have a big passion for video and cinematography and have an ongoing desire (for years now) to start a YouTube channel so that I can let that side of my creativity play. Perhaps you can hold me accountable?

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Social media! It can be tough at times running your own businesses and having to wear all the hats. Clients, algorithm. Clients, algorithm. Clients, algorithm. It never ends! I’m working on freeing up more time in my week to invest in social media in a way that also fuels my inner artist.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

In case this wasn’t obvious…. Social media! ALWAYS social media.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I'd go back to my teenage self and say 'spend more time with your Nan'. She was always my biggest cheerleader and sadly we lost her quite suddenly. She had a great smile and an even greater heart.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Sales. But I’d find an expert that doesn’t use manipulative sales techniques. I want to be able to confidently sell my services but to people that actually need them.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

As my tagline says, I help do-gooders do more good so I LOVE working with people making a difference in the world. This frequently attracts people in the health and wellness industry but I’d also love to help out some fellow creatives to kick-start their businesses.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I used to work as a photographer and shot for a few cafes which I absolutely loved. An ideal job would be for a cool independent cafe that makes delicious food and coffee so that I can make them a website, photograph their menu and sample it at the same time! Food photographer perks ;)

Q: What is your rate?

My base website price is $2,500 (AUD) and I have options for additional support in the lead-up to the website build as well as ongoing business support packages once your shiny new website is out in the world. All this and more can be found on my website nataliadoes.com

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

If you’re interested in working together, head over to my website and book yourself in for a free chat. I’m friendly, smiley, and have a plant-filled background for your zooming pleasure.
