Q What do you do?

My passion lies in capturing the essence of products through photography and videography.

I'm particularly drawn to the texture and detail that macro photography brings to the forefront, allowing me to showcase the subtle nuances of products in a captivating manner. I also enjoy combining digital and manual techniques like collage, adding a unique dimension to my work.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I remained adaptable and resilient in the face of challenges and setbacks. This mindset allowed me to navigate obstacles and seize opportunities for growth.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

As I am currently quite multidisciplinary, I can offer services across a range of fields. However, my ultimate goal is to specialise in product photography and styling. I stand out in my field by prioritising a close relationship with my clients. I actively listen to their wants and needs, striving to accommodate them to the best of my ability. This personalised approach ensures that I deliver results that exceed expectations and foster long-term partnerships based on trust and satisfaction.

Q What are you working on right now?

Currently, I'm focused on building my beauty portfolio and honing my creative direction skills through self-led projects. In addition to my personal projects, I continue to work as a UI/UX designer at a web design agency.

Q What’s your style?

My style and perspective are deeply influenced by a blend of vintage aesthetics and tactile elements. I am drawn to the beauty of intricate details and textures, which I strive to capture through macro photography. While I am still evolving in my journey, I am actively working towards refining this aesthetic and developing a distinctive signature style.

While I don't have a specific project that fully encapsulates my desired aesthetic yet, I can share the names a few creatives who resonate with me: - Lauren Bamford - Margaret Sowa - Di Chen Chen

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

Given my current full-time role as a UI/UX Designer in an agency catering to corporate clients, I find myself longing to focus more on photography. While my design work is fulfilling in its own right, I crave creative projects that allow me to express myself visually and explore my passion for photography further. Therefore, I am actively pursuing self-led photography projects to satisfy this desire for creative fulfilment and to hone my skills in this area.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

At the moment, what's particularly frustrating is the lack of monetary recognition and budget allocated for creative skill sets. Despite investing time and effort into developing these abilities, there's often minimal acknowledgment or resources provided to support their growth and implementation. This limitation hinders the potential for exploring new avenues and fully leveraging creative talents to their fullest extent.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Handling emails, inquiries, and other administrative duties to free up more time for creative work.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I would tell my younger self to prioritise self-belief and perseverance. Specifically, I would emphasise the importance of staying true to my passions and not being deterred by setbacks or self-doubt.

I would tell myself this during my early years of pursuing creative endeavours, whether in photography, design, or any other artistic pursuit. It's crucial to understand that success often requires persistence and resilience in the face of challenges.

I would also encourage my younger self to seek out mentors and community support earlier on, as guidance and encouragement from others can significantly accelerate personal and professional growth.

Ultimately, I wish to instill in my younger self the confidence and determination needed to overcome obstacles and pursue my dreams relentlessly.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

I would seek insight into the intersection of creativity and business, particularly within the realm of photography and design.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I am currently seeking opportunities and projects that allow me to further develop my skills and express my creativity. I am eager to collaborate on photography projects, particularly in the realms of the beauty and fashion industry with a focus on product photography, macro imagery, and creative visual storytelling. I am also open to freelance assignments that align with my skills and interests, such as UI/UX and Web design.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

My ideal client/job/collaboration values creativity, collaboration, and meaningful impact. They should align with my values, offer opportunities for growth, and foster open communication and mutual respect.

Q What is your rate?

For my services, the budget ranges or hourly rates typically vary depending on the scope and complexity of the project, as well as the level of customisation and client needs. However I typically work from a rate starting at $80AUD an hour; project depending
