WHAT DO YOU DO?

I’m an interdisciplinary creative strategist, marketing engineer and artist. Specializing in branding & digital design for clients from all kinds of industries including biotech, e-commerce, technical software, healthcare, fashion & beauty.

I understand the need to attract and connect with a diverse range of audiences. I’m also a painter and illustrator. I draw mostly minimal line portraits or animals.

WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

I always wanted to work behind the scenes of anything new or exciting. When I was a seventeen I got a job at the booking office at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip, listening to tapes of local bands and putting them together on different bills. This was after a brief internship with a French Vogue alumni photographer where I photoshopped portraits of celebrities. I then took a turn into publishing for several years working for a financial magazine in London, then in education publishing in Sydney and finally being the managing editor for classic car magazines. I know nothing about cars. When the publishing industry went all digital, so did I but found that my multi-disciplinary skills fared better in marketing. Somehow along the way, I got a degree in Sociology and finally started actively exhibiting my paintings.

HOW DO YOU STAND OUT IN YOUR FIELD?

I’m a one-woman holistic creative marketing machine. Everything from graphic design and illustration to landing page development, content strategy, keyword research and marketing automation. I’ve worked for a wide variety of industries from Big Name Businesses to smaller businesses and brands. My goal is to help my clients express their message through unique and unorthodox visual and creative projects.

I love the unique and experiential side of the creative field. I was the Easter bunny when I was nineteen because it seemed chill and paid more than the photographer job I originally went for.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

I’m the Marketing Director at Quick’rCare a healthcare startup.  I’m working on concepting a photography and large-scale painting series I hope to complete by the end of the year.

I send out a twice weekly newsletter of curated creative jobs (https://www.getrevue.co/profile/theworklistdigest) in Los Angeles, NYC, Chicago or Remote. I’m also launching a newsletter of interesting things and thoughts from around the internet called Jasmerica Weekly.

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?

I love big loud colors and simple lines.

WE ALL HAVE MULTIPLE SKILLS OR WORK IN VARIOUS INDUSTRIES, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD FOCUS ON MORE?

I wish I had the time to learn video editing in-depth. I get so many ideas watching really well-produced videos but even the cursory video work I’ve done has taught me that it’s a lot of work. There’s producing a high-quality video and also storytelling and I enjoy both. I wrote a web series based on my time working in offices over a decade. I hope to one day be able to film it before all the technology I wrote about is obsolete.

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?

The current problems with in-authenticity of marketing is confusing new business. I’m really interested in following Instagram doing away with showing the number of likes per post. I hope that will skew to a better trend for more “real” and creative content on social platforms.

Also having too many ideas for projects and not enough time and resources.

IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?

I’d hire someone to complete my lists. My shopping lists. I get lots of things delivered. I’m currently having a week where I’m trying to not get anything delivered so I don’t get too feral.

LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?

I would tell my twenty-something self to slow down. I traveled to over 20 countries in in my early twenties, now I get tired after a one hour drive. And success is a squiggly line for almost everyone.

IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?

I’d love to pick the brain of a business or patent lawyer.

WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

Robust and unique creative strategy with weekly touch base meetings.
