Q What do you do?

I direct commercials and do everything from designing and building the sets to editing the final cut of the ad.

I also do creative direction and marketing strategy for brands when advertising on various platforms.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I started woodworking when I was very young which got me into building sets which got me into directing for an ad agency in Los Angeles which led me to freelance commercial directing which is where I'm at now.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I'm known for my specific style of production design and eye for detail. I obsess over color palettes, symmetry, and the smallest of details which results in a unique style of commercial.

Q What are you working on right now?

Working on a few commercials for different clients as well as starting to put more time into a skate business that I'm looking to launch in the next three years.

Q What’s your style?

My style would probably be described as fun/quirky/colorful. I think one of my ads that is a good example of it is my Evian ad seen here - www.brockads.com

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

My passion lies in film and the ad industry but in the future I do hope to dedicate more time to designing clothing and skate boards.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

I don't have as much experience as some of the directors I am up against making it difficult at times to win bids.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

I would have the person cold call potential clients for me as this is how I've gotten most of my business and connections - it's just very tedious.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

Comparison to others is rarely helpful when trying to progress forward.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Everything - starting a business, directing, being fullfilled, I love to learn and don't think you can ever stop learning.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Projects that fit my unique style and look like they belong on my website.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I really enjoyed working with Nickelodeon for a Spongebob Commercial I made.
