WHAT DO YOU DO?

Imagine a world in which products and services are meaningful, long-lasting and helpful the user.

Imagine a world in which products and services are meaningful,
long-lasting and helpful the user. I make this a reality. I am a user experience and visual designer for apps and websites.

WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

I have been working within the design world for over ten years. Using my design and branding skills I started my own business merging fashion and art. I made the move to LA from the UK 3 years ago. One of my favorite jobs has been to work for the Eames Foundation, essentially learning from the best designers in history. This year I became a UX designer having completed UX Immersion Program at General Assembly.

FOR OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR FIELD, WHAT DO THEY USUALLY LACK?

UX design uses both sides of the brain and I think it is incredibly helpful to have experience both within business and design. I think people with this field are either one or the other not both.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

I am currently working on a few projects including creating a piece of software for the fashion industry for a startup company, and creating a business website and branding for a small company.

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?

My aim is to always put the user first and make sure their experience is as simple and clear as can be. So my style is clean, minimalistic and simple.

WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?

I love to  illustrate in my spare time at the moment this is just for me but I would love to have a few commercial projects and explore this more.

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?

Never enough time in the day for professional projects, personal projects and for fun!

IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HOUR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?

Answer emails asap and keep me with a constant supply of coffee (Americano. Milk & Sugar).

LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?

It was the time of the recession when I graduated from design school, it was a nerve wracking time but I would tell myself now to make the most of having that time to explore personal creative projects, to explore and to experiment.

IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?

Psychology, to further aid the research stages the design process

WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

I am currently looking for a full time position as a UX designer in London, United Kingdom. I am also open for freelance work for websites and mobile app design. It would be great to collaborate with other like minded folks for personal projects too!

WHAT IS YOUR IDEAL CLIENT?

I love to work with people that understand the UX process and are open to changing their product dependent on substantial customer feedback. If the user is happy the business is too and it makes for a satisfying experience all round.

WHAT IS YOUR RATE?

As a freelancer, I do UX, UI, build apps and websites, visual design.

My rate is $75/hour across the board, but projects start at $1500. A lot of companies I work with are startups and I like to implement the lean process to be able to provide the most for your money.

HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?

Email is always best!

HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?

Always keep learning!
